I am Kenyan User Experience Researcher and Designer living and working in Nairobi.

I build bridges of insight through empathy, the effort to see the world through the eyes of others, understand the world through their experiences, and feel the world through their emotions.

As a designer, I deeply understand that design is about delivering a satisfying experience while design thinking is about creating a multiple experience in which everyone has the opportunity to participate in the conversation.

What do I do?

As a user experience researcher & designer, I always start with the people I am designing for and end with new solutions that are tailor-made to suit their needs. Human-centered design (HCD) develops solutions to problems by involving the human perspective in all steps of the problem-solving process.

From wireframes to design, and prototypes, I know how to design intuitive and convenient user interfaces, by combining imagery, typographies, and colors.

I love design research: the looking, listening and learning……..and finding order in chaos.

I am a design thinking enthusiast as well. Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding.

Design Process

My design process is always evolving. I use empathic design techniques throughout my process in order to reveal the values and aspirations of users.

Examples of empathic design techniques include:-Ask What-How-Why, Asking the 5 whys, Conducting interviews with empathy, Building empathy with analogies, Using photo and video-based user studies, Engaging with extreme users, Creating journey maps and many more.

My process is set up to allow flexibility and change – being able to adapt to the context of each engagement by considering variables such as the client, the team members, and the parameters of the project.

User experience is about solving problems in real people’s lives and helping people to attain their goals. We deal with users’ pain points, investigate how to eliminate them, and design solutions for them.

Are you struggling to get feedback from users of your products? Do you have problems onboarding new users? Do you long for conversations with users of your products? What design problem are you trying to solve? Do you want to gain a better understanding of the problems you need to solve?
